Just a quick update. Been spending the week so far contacting vendors interested in being reviewed. I am still going to do mainstream brands, but am going to focus more on indie brands because they are what don’t irritate me and I love buying from the actual person who makes it. If you are a vendor, or know a vendor, or even want to see someone reviewed, let me know! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week thus far! Till next time. ^_^
Hi again everyone! First off I wanted to mention that I’m going to be hosting a giveaway on my facebook once I reach 100 likes, so if you haven’t, pop on over there and check it out!
This week I’m reviewing an eyeshadow set I won in a Fan of the Week contest from My Beauty Addiction. They are all over the place, with their facebook, website and etsy pages. The set I won is named Midnight Bloom and was a limited edition set. It includes 3 shadows. I also won their shadow poxy, which I was very excited to try. I posted a video on instagram of the swatches, and how they sparkle, check that out here.
First up, pictures of their packaging.
Everything was sealed, and bubble wrapped nice and tight. The shadows all had sifters and were also sealed.
Now some swatches! The first one of each color is without the shadow poxy and the second is with. First is in natural lighting.
This next one is indoors with flash.
I did notice that the shadow went on smoother and it picked up more color with the shadow poxy than without. The only slight downside of it is its hard and you need to swirl your finger around a bit to warm it up, but once you do you don’t need much on each lid.
Here is the look I did with the shadows.
I did the lightest color on my lower lid along with some eyeliner and used the middle shade all over the lid with the purple at the corners and crease and blended. They all went on very well and seemed to just get scooped up by the shadow poxy.
Other products used in this look:
-Too Faced Beauty Balm in Snow Glow
-Geek Chic Cosmetics Foundation Powder in Codex
-Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
-Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Desperation
-Smashbox Brow Tech Trio in Taupe/Soft Brown
-Geek Chic Cosmetics lipstick in The Last Cetra (limited edition)
After wearing it all day, I without a doubt have to give the shadow and shadow poxy a thumbs up. I’m very happy and impressed with the shadow poxy in particular, I really didn’t think I could find something indie, and less expensive, then the prestige brands I’ve been using. Now I can’t wait to try out some of their lip products. Please check My Beauty Addiction out at the links above. Thanks for reading!!
I know it has been a while, but I’m back with a new review! In the past few months I’ve been getting more into nail polish, and as with my makeup habits, I have a tendency towards indie brands. Not that mainstream big names are always bad, I just love supporting home businesses, and I usually don’t have allergic reactions to indie brands.
I discovered a few different companies, but my current obsession company is ellagee. I discovered it through another indie nail polish creator in the Fi-Bros For Life collab box, a box dedicated to fibromyalgia. I purchased this box and tried the glitter topper named Chronic Badass. I liked it and wanted to try a regular nail polish from them.
I ended up purchasing her mini 3 pack so I could get a variety to try. I picked Dolphins Of The Caribbean, Obsidian Glass and Rainbow Syrup. I’ve since used all three, and fell in love completely.
First up is both Obsidian Glass and Rainbow Syrup since I did them together. Both went on smooth and dried very quickly. They self leveled superbly as well. No real softness issues at all. Here is a shot of them.
A little messy, but I was excited to show the amazing holo of Rainbow Syrup. Obsidian Glass is a black jelly polish, and Rainbow Syrup is an awesome holo topper that doesn’t muddle the original color at all. It sparkles like crazy too.
Next up is Dolphins Of The Caribbean. This is a blue ocean like color with sparkles and dolphin glitters. Definitely reminds me of dolphins in the ocean!
Just the same as the other ones, dried well, and self leveled so nicely.
She currently is in preorder for an awesome Doctor Who themed collection, and has many other colors on her website. Please check her out at http://ellagee.com. Also, check her out on Instagram, and Facebook as she updates all the time. Thanks for reading!!
