First Birthdayversary Giveaway!

Standard

Welcome all! This is the First Birthdayversary Giveaway! It’s named that because it is between my blogiversary, November 23, and my birthday, December 2. I decided to give someone special the presents though. This is for one large prize consisting of 24 polishes, a $20 Gift Certificate to Chirality Polish, a sticker and Mani Bombs. There are a lot of required tasks on the rafflecopter, and it’s only fair that the generous sponsors get some love for donating to this epic giveaway. Now, time for the rules, if they aren’t followed, and you win, a new winner will be picked in your place.

1. Giveaway is open to US residents only. I’m sorry, but at this time I still am unfamiliar with international shipping of nail polish, however, if you have a US friend willing to take the chance to ship for you, by all means enter and I will ship it to them instead!

2. Under 18 is allowed to enter, but if you win you MUST provide a parental consent before I ship it to you. This must be done within 48 hours of being announced, or a new winner will be picked.

3. Profile on Instagram must be public so I can see the shared image.

4. You must do all the mandatory tasks to be able to be entered, and if you unfollow someone before the giveaway is over, a new winner will be picked. Any unfollowers, at least on my end, will be blocked from my page and not allowed to enter any giveaways in the future.

5. Giveaway will run from Nov 30 till midnight EST on Dec 14, that way there is time to get it shipped out before the absolute last minute holiday shipping.

6. No giveaway accounts. That means, if you look like a spam account, you’re a giveaway account.

That should be it, if I end up having to edit the rules at all I will make a post about it. Good luck everyone!!

Fangirl Polish: War of Conquest & The Long Night Review

Standard

Today I have another new brand, Fangirl Polish, for your viewing pleasure.  Her first collection is based on the Game of Thrones book/tv series.  I’m covering two of the colors in this review and will have the rest coming in the next few weeks.  War of Conquest is a beautiful red polish with tons of sparkle.  It’s theme is the Targaryen family and their war in Westeros.

image

The Long Night is a dark gray with silver sparkle, based on a winter, before the Targaryen war, that lasted an entire generation.

image

Both polishes are beautiful and applied evenly and well.  I used three thin coats of each color, but you totally could of went with two.

I also decided to do something fun with this polish, and did what I like to call a nerdicure!  All plates used are from Bundle Monster.

I really love this up and coming brand, and the owner, Jessica, is a total sweetheart!  She is constantly having sales, just make sure you follow her Instagram for all updates!

Products used: Duri Revacote, Orly Bonder basecoat,  Fangirl Polish War of Conquest & The Long Night,  I, A.M. CustomColor DiamondPRO topcoat.

Creative Cuticles Nail Polish: Nebula Review

Standard

I’ve been drooling over this polish for a while, and couldn’t wait to get it on my nails once it came in.  It’s Creative Cuticles Nail Polish Nebula.  I’ve seen a lot of galaxy inspired nail polishes, but to me, this is the best looking one, and really invokes the look.

image

This is the soon to be retired bottle, since they have been discontinued by the manufacturer, so if you order Nebula it may come in a different bottle.  Here are a few macro shots of the polish in the bottle.

image

With the holo, and different colors of glitter it really turns into a multi dimensional look through the black jelly base.

I’ll be posting a short video on my Instagram this weekend to show how it sparkles as well.  I did my accent finger over the discontinued silver polish, Mr. Fix It, to show how you can either layer it by itself, or top another color with it.

This polish had an average dry time, and was thinner than some other jellies I’ve used, but it made it easier to apply, and was very even.  I did three layers by itself, and just one over Mr. Fix It.

Products used: Dainty Digit Polish Glitter Be Gone basecoat, CCNP Nebula, Duri Revacote,  ellagee Glass topcoat.

Overall, I really enjoyed this product,  and the owner of CCNP, Kayla, is a wonderful person and very easy to talk to if you have any questions or concerns.  All her media outlets will be listed below, and as always, thanks for reading! ^_^

Polish Addict Nail Color: Sea Witch Review

Standard

Today I have Sea Witch from Polish Addict Nail Color aka PANC.  It is a bright neon purple/pink color with purple and holo glitter.  This was a summer color and has since been discontinued, but I still wanted to so it to everyone.

image

It looks more purple and darker in the bottle than on the nail, but it’s still a very pretty color either way.

image

Top left picture is in shade, below is with flash, and to the right is in sunlight.  I did a little piece of seaweed and left the other nails just the color to show off the polish.

image

Application was pretty good, but as with most glitter packed polish sometimes I had to go back for a little more since it’s a little thicker than a cream polish may be.  I did have little chunks of color in the polish that were larger than the glitter, and I may have just shaken it well enough before application.

Dry time wasn’t super fast, but wasn’t super slow either.  I’d just let it dry well between layers and you should be good.  I didn’t have any smearing issues while it was drying either. Obtained opacity with 2 coats of polish.  Overall I feel it’s an awesome polish and I love the bright color pay off.

Polish was applied with a layer of Duri Revacote,  Orly Bonder, two layers of Sea Witch, and two layers of ellagee’s glass topcoat to smooth out the bumps.

Please visit Polish Addict Nail Color and check out her newly released galaxy inspired colors and a Sons of Anarchy thermal polish, which I myself will be purchasing in the near future.   As always, thanks for reading!  ^_^

Tater Rounds Beauty – Zombie Girl Collection Review

Standard

Welcome everyone!   This week I decided to take on a challenge and review a whole collection, rather than just a polish or just makeup.  I found Tater Rounds Beauty a while back on etsy, just doing my normal browse through indies that I do.  I decided to pick something up from one of the many indie vendors I have saved on etsy and came across the Zombie Girl Collection on her page.  Not only did it have an awesome theme and purple stuff, god do I love purple, it was on sale too.  At the time of this writing she does still have it available and on sale, if you don’t see it up, definitely contact her, she is very easy to talk to.  She also send a nice amount of samples my way.  I didn’t do a look with them, but they are swatched.

So first, the packaging.  It came in a media sized flat rate postal box with tissue paper and packing peanuts.   Then everything inside was packaged like this.

image

The green bag contained the collection and the pink envelope contained the samples.  Everything was wrapped well, and nothing was damaged in shipping.  Here is everything once I opened it all up.

image

You gotta love those cute little piggies!  Now, on her listings it says she doesn’t use labels, but obviously my shadows and samples had them.  She may just be switching over at this point and need to redo descriptions.  I like labels personally,  so I know what color I need to look for if I want to reorder.  As far as I know all items in this collection can be ordered seperately accept the Zombie color, but she does say contact her if you would like to order in the listing.

Here are the descriptions of everything that came in the collection,  taken straight from the listing.

Eyeshadows
Violet Eyes – metallic shimmer purple
Dark Horse- A satin pure black, dark as the night sky
Purple Swim Suit – A super bright purple with golden shimmer
Zombie – A limey yellow green with a intense shimmer

Lip Gloss
Seductive Berry- A berry purpleish red

Nail Polish
Virus – A purple blue mix of color with black glitter mixed through it

And now some swatches to show all the sparkly goodness.  If you want to see a video go here.

image

All colors are listed, first photo is with flash and second is in natural light. The first 4 are what are included in the collection, and the last 4 are the samples I recieved. Shadow above description was applied without primer, below was, using my go to MBA’s Shadow Poxy .  Obviously as per norm, colors are darker and cling better to the primer, and that’s why I always recommend it. The colors were still very pigmented without the primer as well, just a softer look.  I really liked all the colors, and everything applied well and “clung” to the primer on my lid.  Violet Eyes is my favorite by far, super sparkly and looks amazing put on with a damp brush.

Here’s the swatch of the included lip gloss, Seductive Berry, and the sample, Black Orchid.

image

Both applied well and had great pigment, I’m probably going to pick up a full size of Black Orchid when I run out of the sample.   The only warning I have here is to keep it in a cool place.  My upstairs isn’t air conditioned and it got pretty soft, but that’s pretty normal with the organic stuff.  It still applied well, I just needed to be more gentle with it.

Here is the look I did with the collection.

image

Everything stayed on very well. I put Purple Swim Suit all over the lid as a base then blended Violet Eyes into the outer corner and into the middle. Then I used Dark Horse in the crease and used a little more Purple Swim Suit to blend it out and up.  I used Zombie along the lower lash line and around the tear duct and blended that in to the lid. I lined my waterline with UD’s Black Velvet and did mascara on upper and lower lashes.

Other Products Used
-Urban Decay Naked Foundation in 1.0
-Geek Chic Cosmetics Foundation Powder in Codex
-Geek Chic Blush in Newb
-Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Black Velvet on the waterline
-Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
-Smashbox Brow Tech Trio in Taupe/Soft Brown

Up next, nail polish!  It was opaque at 3 coats and has a unique look with the micro glitter and the larger black glitter.  It dried quicky, and had plenty of glitter in each swipe, so I didn’t need to dig for it at all.  For the nail art I attempted the make your own nail sticker method, and and added blue rhinestones.  I think it looks ok, but this was my first attempt at nail art.  The first shot is in shade and the second is in direct sunlight.

image

And here is the micro shot.

image

And that’s it.  I tried to make it not terribly picture heavy, but there was a lot to show!  Overall I’m happy with the whole set and will be purchasing more.  If you want to buy this set click here and to visit her main site click here. Thanks for reading. ^_^
